Our Strategy

A rural productive alliance is defined as “an economic agreement between a group of organized small rural producers and other economic actors (marketers)”. The conditions under such an alliance are that all take on risks, provide resources and share the profits. In the context of the project, productive alliances will involve agreements between farmer groups and buyers/offtakers, facilitated by the Government. The Productive Alliance (PAZ) therefore proves an excellent strategy for the Zambia Agribusiness and Trade Project to achieve our objectives

Another effective strategy the Project is utilizing is ‘Market Connect’ which is one service line of the SME Supplier Development Programme. Market Connect provides tailored assistance to growth oriented agribusiness SMEs, preparing them to supply corporate and public buyers at a larger scale. This assistance will come in form of brokerage and technical assistance
